Appointment of External Relations Director

This new and challenging role has been created to strengthen Aberdeen Harbour Board's ability to respond to the needs of its customers and stakeholders.

The appointment comes at a time of great excitement and anticipation associated with the game-changing intent for growth and investment in transforming the present infrastructure and facilities of the port.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, and working closely with all members of the Executive, you will be accountable for:

Nurturing relations and engagement with all customers and stakeholders, in particular the oil & gas industry as one of the most active users of the port.
Adopting a pivotal role in building deep-rooted awareness and understanding of customer needs and expectations.
Converting customer requirements into tangible and workable operational service delivery solutions.
Leading corporate communications and media relations, ensuring consistent, candid and transparent messages are conveyed.
Undertaking projects associated with the complex and sensitive issues of growth, infrastructure development, customer satisfaction and service quality.

To fulfil this key role we are seeking an exceptional candidate with established credibility within the Aberdeen business community, a record of senior management achievement gained in the private sector and a well-developed network of senior influential relationships within the energy sector.

The successful individual will bring proven expertise in business to business customer relationship management and a natural ability to perform a high profile, visible role necessitating an approachable, engaging management style that requires tact and diplomacy in managing the expectations of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
