SUBSEA EQUIPMENT GOING DOWN UNDER FROM ABERDEEN HARBOUR

Aberdeen Harbour's role in the export of oilfield equipment is highlighted this week, with the shipment of a complete subsea field development package for the offshore industry on the other side of the world.

The Priam has been loading at the deep-water Pacific Wharf ahead of sailing today, Friday 3 November, via the Panama Canal to Freemantle, Australia. On board will be 810 tonnes of oilfield equipment.

Searoute Port Services are the local agent in Aberdeen for the shipment, with Eagle Global Logistics as the freight forwarder.

Aberdeen Harbour Board Chief Executive, Colin Parker, said: "This latest shipment of oilfield equipment is another example of the port's growing role and importance to the local economy, backed by continuing expansion of facilities, in support of the UK offshore industry in global markets."
