ABERDEEN HARBOUR BOARD APPOINT NEW OPERATIONS DIRECTOR & HARBOUR MASTER

Captain Ray Shaw

Aberdeen Harbour Board have appointed Captain Ray Shaw as Operations Director and Harbour Master, effective 1 May, 2006.

Following 15 years' international experience with the Merchant Navy on a variety of vessels, he gained his Master Mariner's certificate in 1993. Joining Aberdeen Harbour Board as a Navigation Control Officer the following year, he was promoted Assistant Harbour Master in 2000.

Captain Shaw, who holds a Diploma in Port Management and qualified as a Vessel Traffic Services Supervisor in 2005, is a member of the UK Harbour Masters' Association.

As Operations Director and Harbour Master, he will succeed Colin Parker who takes up his appointment as the Board's Chief Executive on the same date.
