Graham Star of Port’s Safety Campaign

Sea-Cargo Terminal Foreman, Graham Lamb has been enjoying the limelight recently as the star of the Aberdeen Port Safety Group’s new safety campaign. The campaign, which focusses on encouraging safe driving within the port, has featured locations and personnel from the port itself, with Graham’s picture taking pride of place on billboard posters on two warehouse buildings within the harbour estate.

“I am enjoying my new found fame”, said Graham, “as you can imagine, this is causing some real banter with my colleagues, which is all good fun, but there’s a very serious reason for the campaign. If it helps keep my fellow workers safe, I am happy to play my part”.

The Port Safety Group, who designed and commissioned the safety posters and road signs which can be seen around the harbour, is made up of a wide range of port users, including Aberdeen Harbour Board, oil majors, port agents and commercial shipping companies, such as Sea-Cargo. The aim of the group is to apply a co-ordinated approach to safety for all who use the port, through the sharing of knowledge and industry experience. The posters will change over time to support other important safety messages.
